Tracks for your truck?????

You need to splain this one. I lived in central Idaho most of my life, and a 4x4 with agressive tread does well. Hell I used to drive a Camero with snow tires, and two hundred pounds of bagged sand in the trunk, and I went places truck people did not!
If I read you right, you are putting tracks on a F-150. Why not just buy or rent a snowmobile?

I haven't done it, but what I have learned/read is: They max out about 30 mph. Use a soft tread so they don't tear up roads, but may not be dot approved. Can be swapped out with a few hours of work.
I might use them on an exoctic show truck, but your better off with a good set of snow/winter tires.

we have trax like that on a 4wheeler they were 3200bucks but ya wouldnt beleive the plases you can go with them the dealer told if we got it stuck they would come get it out cuzz they never seen one get stuck the only REAL problem with the tracks beside having to go slow is steering they dont turn worth a hoot but if ya dont mind backin up and double shootin a corner once in a while they worth every cent plus the looks folks give ya is unreal

I used to drive a snow cat grooming machine in the 80s and it would go anywhere I pointed it. This track set-up on this truck looks similar with smaller tracks. I would think it would be very hard to get stuck in it. But I bet it is also very slow. We used to winch the cats down the steep slopes or else it would go end over end.
wizzard351--- Do you have a picture of your 4 wheeler? I bet that works real well.
