I'm looking for the blinker switch setup for my wifes '59. As original as possible... switch, housing, arm, ****, wires..... Whatever I will need to get this truck back to original.
Hi PK,
You can buy a new turn signal switch right here from this site's online store.
There are some other aftermarket companies that do sell the turn signal lever.
While the lever is a "correct" re-production except for being chrome (original lever shafts were black), the **** on the end of the lever is not correct.
The re-production ones I've seen come with a round white ball on the end, instead of the year correct "ivory" colored sphere shaped ****.
You could find an original correct lever from an online salvage yard like http://www.gillys.com for example.
If I were you, I would not go with the salvage yard switch. After 43 years, it is bound to have some wear.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Nov-02 AT 11:59 AM (EST)]Also try: John's F-Fun Hundreds; Sacramento Vintage Ford; Mac's Antiquie Auto Parts; and Bob's F-100's. If none of them have it, someone will likely know where you can find what you need. I've done very well by all 4 while building my '59 Styleside...
If none of those pan-out, try calling Turner's Auto Wrecking in Fresno, Ca. at: (559) 237-0918. Ask for Mr. Turner (Steve is rude) and remind him that he has two 59's across the street against the back fence (one blue, one white I think). Good luck!
