noisy valve lifter 1989 f250, 460

I have a noisy valve lifter in an 1989 f250 with 460, 130,000 miles. Is there an additive that I can use to quiet the lifter.???....Irv

You can try some seafoam in the oil, of course that won't do anything to help a colapsed lifter...

How sure are you its the lifter and not a bent pushrod or rocker?

I once had a noise that i thought for "SURE" it was a lifter...turned out i was 2 quarts low of oil....ouch...not a good time to forget to check your oil level.

What is seafoam and where do I get it...noise comes and goes so push rod and rocker are ok....oil level ok also.....Irv

I once thought sea foam was awesome till i heard it through the grape vine that its not that good for your system. Sea foam is a fuel injector cleaner/oil sludge cleaner additive/ whatever you want it to be.
