Could anyone please tell me what Bracket I need to mount a power steering case from a toyota truck on to my 54. can you order the bracket or is it easy to make? And also does anyone have pictures of this installed on their truck that I may see to have an idea as to how to hook up.

I don't know the answers to your questions beyond remembering that a mount is available from some of the aftermarket places. Try a search of this forum for "Toyota". It's been discussed several times.

Mid-Fifty sells one. Cal Performance Products makes them. Same price at either place. I put one in a '56 and am pleased with it. Had a rather tight fit next to the FE, but any narrower engine should give no clearance problem.

I have the Toyota box in my 53. I bought the bracket from Bob's F100's. The bracket is basically a piece of 5/16" thick flat stock bent in a very open "Z" shape. The upper leg of the "Z" bolts to the under side of the upper frame rail (set back towards the firewall). The lower leg of the "Z" bolts to the lower frame rail (out towards the radiator) and the angle of the "Z" holds the box so that the steering column will line up at the proper angle and at the same time the output shaft will pass through the original hole in the frame.
If you want more specific info, let me know. I can easily get at mine for some measurements.

Just a quick question, does your output shaft go through the drivers side frame then connect to the pitman arm? I am also needing to put P/S on my 59, but it is a 4X4. Just wondering if it's the same setup on the 2 wheel drive model.

i created my gallery for the 56 f-250 and i included some pictures of the toyota swap if you would like to get a better idea of how it mounts. overall it is fairly easy to put in. i had to make the opening in the frame slightly larger for clearance, but other than that no other modifications. no lines have been connected to the steering pump so i don't know how that goes yet....

Thanks Bob, I understand the pitman arm has to be off for the install, my biggest question is: is the 2wd steering setup the same as a 4wd? I keep hearing about the toyota conversion but most are running 2wd. I have never come across a group of people so eager to help not just the vetrans but the newbies as well, keep up the good work and thanks,
Matt
