9" Ring gear/powertrax questions

I am installing a powertrax no slip traction system in my 79 f 150 4x4 w/ a 9" rear end. It has gone together fairly smoothly but i have one problem. It says to mark the two halves of the case and the ring gear so they can be put back in the same exact position. Well i had a family member helping me out a little and the marks on the case halves were accidently rubbed off ( i should have used a punch or something i should know better) Is there going to be a problem if the case isnt lined up exactly how it was with the ring gear or the two halves ( i am fairly sure that the halves are correct judging by a marking that i made seperating the two halves)? This is the first time i have messed with a differential (i replaced seals in the dana 44 that is it) so i am not sure if this will affect the settings of the differential or not but it doesnt seem that it would have any affect on it but i maybe wrong. So now do i need to take the ring gear/differential to the mechanic so he can re adjust as needed? I really need the pickup for hunting season tomorrow but if i need to get ring gear set up properly i guess ill just have to manage. Thanks for any help guys!

I didn't think the carrier had to be removed to install a power trax, infact I thought that was thier claim to fame. The 9" you have to pull the chunk to get to the carrier, but the carrier should have stayed in the chunk/pumpkin/third member.

So I am guessing your trying to reassemble the powertrax in the carrier, I don't think it will be super critical on a hunting truck, as long as it goes back together.

i thought so also but i followed there directions exactly. I think they say on some you dont have to but others you need to. They also say to remove the bearings but there is no need to. I waited a day so i could take it to a shop so they could pull them off for me. I think i have another problem... they never said to put in the old thrust washers, but i pry should have right? I just read the tech article but it is for the lock rite and it says to reinsert the thrust washers but the instructions from powertrax no slip said nothing about reusing them
