86' 351 W problems.......again

So i started my truck up a couple of days ago and i heard a loud bang from the front of the truck, it seemed to start ok but when i put it in gear it stalled. I managed to limp it home but its running craaaaapy. I have no idea what that bang could have been or whats wrong with it. I just had the flywheel replace a few months ago and now this.....

Any ideas on whats wrong with her??

Broken motor mounts?? could cause a big bang. Engine rocking when you start it up, cause it to bang when it fires. Nothing holding all that horsepower down. Maybe a little bit more specific would be helpful.

I called a buddy of mine and asked him what it could have been and he thinks it may have been the timing chain skipping a tooth or the power valve in the carburator. It doesnt seem to be idleing too bad but definetly wants to die when i put it in gear.

Maybe ill have to limp her down to the shop.....uhg.

I have never seen a timing chain "skip a tooth".
They will wipe teeth off or stretch so far to make the timing off.
If this happens it wont start or it will ping under power.
The bang came from under the hood ?
I dont think when carbs go bad they bang.
I would go to what was change last "flywheel" take off insp cover. make sure everything is how it should be.
