Protecting on frame wiring.

I'm about to wire up a double electric fuel pump setup (one backup) and not sure how to run the wires down the frame. I would like to protect them but putting them in plastic tubing would just collect dirt and water.

Any ideas?

I assume you are thinking of the split plastic tubing (loom)? Why not run it through some sort of solid tubing. You would probably have to stick the wires through before you mounted it on the frame though. Tubing that comes to mind are;

Large poly air tubing

1/2" or 5/8" heater hose

soft copper tubing for plumbing.

You could make sure to seal the ends so water would not enter.

First off use quality wire, the more strands the better, with a good insulation. It sounds like your a little ****, so you may want to look into painless' wire. However, split loom wrapped in tape will provide more than enough protection. There are companies making bonded sheathed wire, that maybe another option.

OK enough on birth control methods!

Sheathing might be a good idea. Thanks for the replies.

Go to a electronics dealer that sells network wiring and check out inerduct. It is used to run fiber optic cable and it is really hard to even cut. Most of it is in orange so you have to be a UT fan to purchase it It is nearly impossible to cut so it should provide all the protection you will need.
