Question No 4 Wheel Drive

I recently bought a 1988 bronco II to hit some trials with. I got it running good now and tonight we did a little offroading and soon found out that the 4wd does not engage... fun fun fun. It has "touch drive", when I hit the button no light comes on and 4x4 does not engage. Where should I start? A fuse maybe? The front driveshaft is there... already checked that. I dont have the fuse panel either, the previous owner lost it.
Thanks,
Rick

Usually the switch on the transfer case. If you search the Ranger/BII/Explorer forums you can see various fixes for it and how to troubleshoot it.

If you are going to use your 4x4 on trails, my suggestion is to ditch it completely and go manual hubs and manual transfer case.

I got it figured out. I just pulled off the switch turned the **** to 4 low and put the switch back over top to act as a cover.
Thanks for the help,
Rick
