I want some 37's

My 97 f150 is kinda plain and i want to make it taller. its a 2wd so im aware that its not straight up for offroading but to do a little trail driving and being powering through some shallow mud i think it will be fin considering out jeeps do alot of stuff in 2wd also. So here is my question I want to lift it just enough to fit 37s under the truck. I look all over the place at tire fitment guides and no one seems to have the answer they only allow 35s with a 5 in lift. What lift is the one that will fit 37s? and what will i need to do to keep the milage i am getting rght now? Thanks.

hmm.

To be honest if you really are going to offroad at all, you'd be better off trading for a 4wd truck.

You'll have to regear it to get back some of the power you're going to lose, but it won't give you milage back you'll never get what you're getting now.

Its probably the v6, right? That won't have enough power to turn the 37's very easily.

If you're just going for the look get some really agressive 33-35's and be done with it, over that you're going to be getting into a lot of money.

I can tell you now that you can forget about good gas milage if you lift your truck and put 37's on I agree with captainp4. Get a 4x4 the 4x2 will never hold up under that kind of stress.

I think Fabtech has a 7.5" lift for 2wd F150's. Thats the biggest lift I have found for them. If you want to go bigger, then you will get into customizing, and that will get very expensive very fast.

thanks for the imput its a v8 and i wasnt plannin to get good gas milage just somethin above our v10. probally 35s are my best bet for the truck its not supposed to do much offroading more of a show truck as some may think just rather not have it plain and like the 4 other identical trucks in the town.
