B&M shift improver... I ordered the wrong one...

So I ordered one for a GM 4L60E and 4L80E. I have a 95 F-150 with a 351, 96 model E4OD transmission. Send it back and get the other, or should the same thing work? I hope that the only difference in the two are the instructions sent with the product... Any ideas?

They are different part numbers, so I wouldn't interchange them with out calling b&m first. More than likely, it's just a difference in resistor values. Normally I suggest programmers over add on modules like that.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered it because I heard good things about it. It wasn't 5 minutes after I confirmed the purchase, I started seeing negative remarks towards it haha. Such is life I guess.

What do you suggest I get in terms of a programmer? Please note that I'm a poor 18 year old electrician haha. I want something that I can flip a switch and have instant firmer shifts, but I would still like to keep them fairly soft for all around driving. This truck is my daily driver, and I normally don't romp on it and run the hell out of it, but when I'm pulling heavy loads I want to know that I'm getting minimal slippage while shifting.

Well then, I would reccomend calling factory tech and see if they have an accumulator for you. If yes, it will boost trans fuild volume for better shifting, but if you accel easy it will not jump when shifting. I love mine enough that I am no longer using my tuner for trans pressure. I was thinking that if you got a programmer you could kill two birds with one stone, more power more agressive shifting.

I put the B&M shift improver on my old truck,a 97 F150 4x4 4.6 and loved it,it worked even better than I hoped ,firmer shifts and less "dust" in my tranny pan, thinking about putting one on my F350 or maybe a super chip
