Just received my letter - Ford's wonderful Cruise Control Recall has spread to include the V10 F53 chassis. (Already went thru this on my Expedition & F150)
Guess I'll go out and disconnect it until the dealers can get the part.

mchevy, I would expect that a plug is under the dash area, might be a little hard to find. You should have a separate harness that attaches to the brake controller that plugs into the under dash plug. My 250 came with the harness and wiring instructions in the glovebox.

Just a FYI
Over on the MH forums there are many complaining that Ford is still saying they don't have the parts for this recall.
Unbelivable how Ford is ale to drag their feet on these things!

Back in Sept. I was told by three different (Large) dealers that they wouldn't have parts until Jan.
However, My Wife happened to call a small Ford dealer the day after turkey day and he said bring it in. Fixed in about ten minutes!
So call around to any and all dealerships, you may get lucky.

I believe it was back in late Oct I got the letter. Called the Ford dealer they said to bring it right in, doubt it was any more than 15 min to install the fuse and harness and they did it in the parking lot.

Hey all. My Dad has This same RV and his "speed control panel" went out. He says it actually is the whole panel, not just the speedometer. I noticed some had posted "Horror Story number Three: speedometer failure or ABS light blinking. Typically the speed sensor craps out, usually on the rear differential but some are on back of transmission. Inexpensive...get the part into your "kit" ". He had a problem with the ABS light blinking at one point which I cleared with my Ford OBDII programmer. The light eventually came back on, but when we replaced the scensor, all was fixed. Could the speedometer failure he thinks he has actually be just the sensor itself? If he needs a new "assembly", does anyone know where he can get one. He actually ordered one from a shop, but they said its on backorder and may not come in for a couple of months. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you're going to have to make a CAI for that F53

Be careful with that Dodge... my brother-in-law has a 1500 and the air intake is down where you said it is, in the passenger fender. It's the stock intake.

He went through a 6" puddle at 20MPH and sucked up water and blew his engine. But that's Dodge for you. Make a 4x4 with the air intake down near the front passenger wheel - smart.

Anyway, your F53 might take a standard F-series air filter, in which case, you could put a K&N in the stock air box. The only way to tell would be to see what Ford part numbers are called for in each, and see if it's the same. I can only find FA1782 as the 3-valve air cleaner for the F-series pickups. Couldn't find the one for the F53 right away.

Found the body builder's layout book for the 2006 F53, interesting stuff

https://www.fleet.ford.com/TRUCKBBAS...f5306mtrhm.pdf

Depending on where the air box is, and

Cold Air Induction

Supposedly to get more cold air from the outside instead of from under the hood.

Ah!So, Thanks Krewat, I haven't looked at where the Air intake is located on our van yet as all work excluding oil/filter change and grease which I do myself.
Has the Zoodad mod been done on a van? I'm wondering if it would have any effect on the heat from the doghouse. So far ours does not get hot nor cause the cab to heat up.
If I can improve performance without upsetting the cooling of the engine.

Cheers Willis
