89 Ford Aerostar Heater Core And Hoses
I hope someone can help me. I am installing all new hoses for the Heater for my 89 Ford Aerostar. It has A/C but no auxilary heater. I am not sure how these hoses need to be installed. There are two hoses which go together. One is 18 inches long and the other is 35 inches long. Those two I do know connect together and I am guessing it would be at the heater valve. The heater valve has three openings. Two for hoses and then a smaller hole which I do not know if it hooks into the vaccum hose which comes out of the blower motor or to something else.
I would also need to know in what position the heater valve needs to be connected.
Then there is a third longer hose which is 43.3 inches long which hooks into the water pump but I do not know if it hooks into the upper or lower part of the Heater Core or if it does not matter in this model Ford. Lastly when I started looking all these parts up at the NAPA auto parts web site it mentions a TEE that is used to connect the two piece hose to the thermostat and I am unsure if that is referring to the heater valve as the "TEE" or if I am mising another part. If anyone has a picture of what this should look like please let me know or I could surely use a diagram of how to do this the right way. I am moving to Carolina in two weeks and it's going to be much colder then here in Florida. Thanks for our help.
