Any boxing fans here?
Apparently, he had a promising career.
I met Carlos Padilla here in S.F. back in the 80s, and mentioned my uncle's name.
He new my uncle (very well), when he was starting out and told me he had a very promising boxing career.
But a motorcycle accident ended that.
For those who don't know who Carlos Padilla is, he was championship referee, who refereed matches between the likes of Mohammed Ali/Joe Frazier and Sugar Ray Leonard/Roberto Duran, and other boxing greats. Probably one of Padillas biggest match he refereed was the Thrilla in Manilla; between Ali and Frazier.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos.
There old, black and white, and not the best quality.

I don't pay too much attention to boxing these days since it seems like so many of the fights are rigged anymore. Plus it's SLOW after watching MMA fights. Sadly though, even some of those seem to be 'influenced' nowadays, I don't think so much from the fighters standpoint as the ref and judges.
Boxing is my favorite sport...
I'm not a boxing buff, but I love a good match.
I check out Boxing classics, and Friday night fights quite a bit.
After watching Tyson destroy all his opponents during his hay day, I finally saw the Buster Douglas rematch? where tyson was KO'd
I could never stand Tyson no matter how good a boxer he was but how much of an *** of a man he is...no class.
Lots of great recorded fights...so many I can never remember names.
Scotty Pemberton out of RI had some great fights.
I check out solo boxeo too
