I have the three speed column shift and want to put a taller gear in my rearend because it maxes out the I-L 240 straight six on the highway. Is there someone out there that makes one?
SM when you speak of a taller gear, I hope you mean rearend gear. Wheather you have a 3, 4, 5, or 6 speed tranny the output shaft is still one to one.
Your truck most likely has a 9 in rear, and with the 240 I6 has a 375 gear, if you use the truck as a daily driver and are not interested in slow pulling and jackrabbit starts, you could go to a 3.25 and increase your top end speed, as well as fuel milage. That will take some of the punch out of the start off though.
