2003 5spd shift problem..
2003 f150 4.2 5sp with a shift problem. Truck will not go into gear while running. Shut off the engine and put it in gear then restart engine.. Clutch seems fine, can shift ok while moving. Pilot bearing, slave cylinder? Of course problem evaporates while at the ford dealer.. Anyone else have this problem?

I must have created my thread about the exact same moment as you. I have a 2001 F150 4.2 with a 5 speed, I'm dealing with the same issues right now. Do you have to top off your clutch fluid reservoir every week or twice a week? Sounds like we have a similar problem.

No leaks on mine. It is at the Ford dealer now for the third time... all levels good, I think mine is the pilot bearing or bushing. Sounds as if your slave cylinder is leaking? Seems to be a problem area for these trucks?
