So I have two choices...I know there are several available but I can get these specific two at cost. So please lemme know as the Air Raid is much less money than the AEM unit.
Get neither... Form my research, Air intakes, exhaust, chip, etc is a waste of money for the amount of HP or TQ gaines you get on these cars...Either Turbo or Supercharge for more power!!!!

AEM
Air Raid
Thanks in advance

I believe the other fellas are right. I did a lot of research also, more than willing to drop $250-$400 for a noticeable difference. Now, I would recommend getting a K&N air filter, you'll get about the same gains =5hp,1-2mph you will with a complete kit. I got mine for $30 at autozone. Green air filter do the same job, just keep them clean. Clean about every 15k the recharger kit is $10.
Simple logic.....if there is no cold air...does it do anything? Better thought - ALLOW more air to flow properly. So, I drilled a few 2" holes in the outer side of the airbooutside the air filter to keep those buggies out) and Bam! Yep, better power and better mileage on those 1,000 mile trips from SoCal to the Hole!
Only way to get more power without turbo or blower...is by changing out the throttle body. Added air flow equals more power/better mileage due to lower engine work function. It is as simple as that......physics!
I agree. Better spent money would be a K&N drop-in. If you just have to do a mod, I would do a cat-back system before a CAI.
I also like the cold air vs ambient temp logic. Good point, Steverino909. Our trucks already have an intake that pulls air from outside of the engine compartment. That's about as cold as it's gonna get.
The only thing you can do from there is increase air flow in and air flow out. I don't know if I would go drilling holes in my air box or anything, but it doesn't sound like that bad of an idea actually. I dunno. It always seems like there are so many better things to do than spend too much money on a "Cold" air intake system that does about as much as a drop-in anyway.
I understand the basic pricipals of making more power. I own a couple supercharged cars as well...Of course this is a great way to make good power and a mean torque curve. BUT its not in the cards for my EX...
I am looking more for real world exp. with either piece/unit...Better quality kit, etc...
I have the K&N drop in and I think I might try the throttle body maybe drill the holes until I can do the Supercharger...I think the TB is only a few hundred bucks...It seems like that is the only logical upgrade for these motors.....
Yea, I'm stuck with an 03 5.4......I like the motor...It's really pretty strong...I also have a 68 360 and a 90 351. It's weird driving them feeling the differneces in them especilally being about the same CI.....I know, Technology...I should go through my 360 and fuel inject etc....
Although a supercharger is the most economical method to gain significant horsepower, I can say from experience that a cold air pipe such as C&L w/K&N filter and a Diablo predator tuner for about $500.00 can reduce 1/4 mile et by 1/2 second. eg. Same day, temp, relative humidity, and wind direction and velocity unchanged. Elapsed time w/above listed items went from 14.0 seconds to 13.5 seconds in 1/4 mile. A supercharger for the 3valve modular engine will cost in excess of $3000.00 plus tuning on dyno w/wideband O2 sensor for safe A/F ratios.
Instead of spending a couple hundred $ on an air intake kit, I made my own which cost me $30. I picked up a used stock air filter housing "cone" from a local junk yard for $20 to experiment with and go back to "stock" if it did not work. I drilled five 1-1/2" inch holes in the tapered portion of the air filter cone and epoxied metal bug screen pieces on the inside to keep bugs out. I then added a new filter, which was due for a change.
I can say that you can actually feel air being sucked in at idle and while reving the engine through the holes. I then took the Expy out for a 7hr roundtrip "cruise". I got almost 19mpg at 80mph up from about 17mpg at same speed. The truck seems to be a little more responsive. Not too bad of a mod for $30 worth of material and the engine compartment still looks stock (which I wanted).
Give it a try.

i recomend a supercharger, i put one on my expy and get better gas milage than the K&N CAI i had on it previously all that thing did was make a cool sound
