2003 shift on the fly, can hear the actuator when switched to 4wd, my question is: where does the mech engagement take place? there appears to be no hub to disassemble. Is it in the differential. thanks
Welcome to the forum.
It is a electric/vacuum operated system. There is a servo motor on the transfer case that actuates the 4WD High and LOW, and a vacuum actuator on the front differential that engages the front axle at the differential.
What is the problem?
