'48 - '50 Radiator Identification

Can anyone explain the identification letters on the stock radiators? My '48 F1 (6 cyl.) has 8HC on one line and below it is MO. These are on the top tank. I have seen other letters and similar variations on what I think must have been from other year models or maybe from larger trucks. Does anyone know if this is the only one used in the '48 F1 6 cylinder and what the letters might mean?

I don't know anything about the part numbers for radiators but I know the radiators from the larger trucks, F-4 to F-6, have more cooling tubes than the smaller trucks. Also, the flat 8s have a different radiator than the 6s, the 8's have two large tubes on the top and bottom. As you know the 6s only have one, top and bottom. There might be different variations for COEs and F-7&8s.

8HC is the designation for the 6 cyl series radiator and other parts for 6 cyl. 8RC was the V8.

Barry,

What would 8HC-B1 indicate? Specifically the B1.

8HC is 6 cyl and the B1 is most likely a running change.
