Burnt smell
Driving to work this morning I began to smell a burnt odor. Thought it must be coming from an old car in front of me. Got into parking spot and it was still there. All gauges are reading normal and it runs fine. Did not have time to open hood but I am not sure what I would see anyway. What on earth would cause this? I have 22,000 miles on it without a problem so far.
Thanks

At first I laughed at the cat comment. Then I thought about it and we get mice and rats building nests in the colder months on the tractor and truck engines. If you don't check for that they start to burn and really stink. Definitely pop the hood and check it out.
Was it an oil smell or electrical or??

The smell is like bunt oil. Does not smell like burning grass or critters. Its always garaged with my two large dogs who hate cats but maybe one snuck in!! If I don't see anything when I pop the hood will I be OK to run it if all guages stay OK?
Checked oil last week and it was fine. It needs an oil change anyway so I will probably just have to take it in. At least its still under warranty. Yesterday was running fine and lie-o-meter said 18.5 mpg on a trip.
