What's wrong with it?
The display quit working on mine and you could possibly repair it yourself. The solder on a few of the resistors gave out, I was able to use a solder gun and a very little bit of solder to repair it. Still working great.

I'd be willing to fix it for you, assuming that is the problem. The solders are extremely light and just the rattle and shake from being a big truck take their toll. Send me a private message and we can set something up. Just click my name and a pop-up menu will come up and click on private message.

Look inside the cubby hole up top. There will be two little tabs, one on each side, you have to push those out, and then pull down very forcefully, but not too much that you break things... easier said than done. There are "snaps" front and back of it that fit extremely tight and you have to pull hard to get them out. It'll feel like you broke it when it comes apart, hopefully you didn't. I've done it a few times and haven't broken anything yet.

I left a photo in post #5 of this thread:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...uter-dead.html

It might help explain how to get the bezel down.

Here's some excellent instructions with pictures:

I just did this myself, the 680 resistors are 68 ohm, 620's are 62 ohm resistors, I couldn't get a good solder connection to the factory ones so I replaced them with resistors from Radio Shack. Not pretty, but it works great.

Thumbs up Blue "00

I can't believe how much knowledge you all have out there!!! There is a gal out there in the forum,(I can't remember her name) that posted a "how to pictoral" of this overhead console repair!!! It has detailed explanation of how to pull the console and repair the chips!!!

I just bought the truck and the trip quage wasn't working! I printed the article, took it home and within 30 minutes had the console out, the circuit board repaired, and reinstalled everything!!! It's not difficult at all, I used the easy method of super glueing the resistors back to the board and it works like brand new!!! Don't pay $500 for a new console (If you haven't already!!) The kid I bought the truck from thinks I'm a genuis thanks to you all!! Ha, Ha!!

Thanks FTE!!

I hope you got your console back and in working order. I tested it on my truck and it worked. Let me know if it's working for you.

A wire was removed from the harness to keep it bright all the time. It is located behind the kick panel on the passenger side. Just take the kick panel off and you should see the loose wire and the harness it goes into. Here is a thread where it is discussed:
