Question Red's Bed diamond plate aluminum folding bed cover

I'm looking for an aluminum folding bed cover for my '05 F250 Longbed. Red's Beds cover look interesting (www.redsbeds.com) . Can anyone provide feedback on this cover or a comparison to other folding bed covers such as fold-a-cover?

I need the security of metal and the flexibility of obtaining total bed access without removing the cover.

Thanks!

This folding bed cover looks as if it folds up which would allow the full use of the bed. Only problem with that is it does not sit on a railing so it can't be as strong and it would probably cover the rear window when folded up, obscuring the rear view mirrow. Just an observation going by a picture. The actual mechanism by design might (hopefully) work without these problems.

I also have a folding retractable type cover which slides on aluminum rails and folds against the front inner part of the bed. It takes up maybe 6 inches of space when opened measured from the front to rear of the bed, and drops down leaving about maybe 4 inches of space to the bottom of the bedliner. I don't know the make though.

Why is the Red's Bed cover any less secure than a track type folding cover?

It latches on 3 points on each side.

How many clamping points are there on one of the track type systems or am I missing something here?

You might want to check these out they are strong enough to hold up an ATV.

I didn't get a tonneau cover, but when I was looking they were the one I would have chosen. I decided against a tonneau for my needs.

The Diamond Back is a very impressive cover. Easily the strongest one I have seen. However, because it is a center hinged design, full bed access is not possible without removal of the entire cover.
