Troubles

Hey guys I just finished overhauling my 351W we had the engine bored .60 over and new Edelbrock cam new Edelbrock 4bbl carb new Edelbrock 4bbl intake. new oil pump, new timing chain and gears, and some other new stuff and I have drove it about 50miles and it won't even squel the tires now (it wouldn't before either) what is the problem the rearend? I don't know what the exact gear size is but it came out of a car station wagon i know that much. and also while it was down we did the disc brake and power steering conversion and now it won't steer straight it wants to go to the right but whatever you do you over compensate and it gets real squirly. even at low speeds, what do you think the problem is? needs new shocks? is the tierod end bad? please help

David

Troubles

On the motor rebuild situation, if you've got a final drive gear from a station wagon theres a good chance that it's high geared for gas milage at highway speed. A high gear ratio will not give you lots of torque on takeoff wothout lots of horsepower. Therefore, reducting the ability to spin the tires. The other situation you described about the road handling problems. I'd take it to a reputable frontend specialist.
