DOVE-A2A heads + 390 blocks & heads. Scrap or...
I have a set of these heads that I am not sure of what to do with. they have valves and springs, but no rocker assemblies. These have been sitting outside for years. So are rusted and will require a rebuild to use. I do not have any plans for a Ford motor in my future. These are on the old farm along with a plethera of 390 motors and heads. These have all been sitting out on the ground for several years, so I am certain there is much work to make anything out of the motors. My current plans are to haul these off as scrap iron. Thoughts...

Well the DOVE-A heads bring anywhere from $100-200 rebuildable on evilbay. But are you sure they are DOVE heads for a 460 ford? I don't recall ever seeing the A2A suffix on the DOVE heads (doesn't mean that it's not possible I suppose) The FE stuff well look through it, if you have any cylinder heads with 14 bolt exhaust pattern those will bring some good money, and it never hurts to try you might get some decent money out of them. if you don't get em sold that way put all the FE stuff in an auction as a lot, and make it a must pick up will not ship type of deal (I would do that on any block anyway, heads are ok to ship but a block is truck shipping and a PITA)

Dont scrap that 390 stuff! Just the 390 blocks will bring from $200 to $450 on ebay (some of those were already bored and honed though). Many people looking to convert their 360 to 390 will want the crank and rods.
Do a search for "Ford 390 block" on ebay and you'll see what I mean.

tomas428 - The heads are in central Missouri right now. north of Rolla on the map. The heads have been in the weather, but look ok. nothing a vat couldn't clean up. Definitely a rebuild. Pictures will take some time, but I will work on it.
Anyway, i am suprised at what you guys are noting about 390 blocks. I will do some searching on evilbay as suggested. The real issue is location, hence shipping. Also my concern is that these have been in the weather and on the ground for many years. you would not believe the number of 390 heads passed over by the bush hog. I am certain that the DOVE heads are 385 series. have a cast iron intake with it as well. guess I could check number on it to learn more about the engine they came off of.
Thanks for the advice.
