I/c question

I bought a 6.0 intercooler from ebay. From what i have read and what diesel power products site says the boot i have should work. The passenger side boot fits great. The drivers side boot which is 3" on one side and 3.25 on the other does not fit. The intercooler opening is 3" on the drivers side so my boot is to big. From what i have read the 6.0 ic is supposed to have a 3.25" opening on the drivers side. DPP site says that the boot to put a 6.0 ic in a 7.3 is 3"x3.25". Is the ic i got off ebay a 7.3 being it only has a 3" opening and i got ripped off. I contacted the seller yesterday and he swears it's a 6.0 intercooler. Hoping one of you guys know the size of the opening on the 6.0 so i know if this is the right ic or not. I also have the part number from the 6.0 ic if there is a way to check that. Thanks

Mine is all the same except for the last group mine reads 6e18a. I would assume that since the first two groups are the same and assuming the 4c3z 6k775 ba is the actual part number i would have a 6.0 ic. I can't seem to understand why from what i read the 3" by 3.25" boot is what i should need and i have that and the opening on the 6.0 ic is smaller than the opening on my 7.3. Badluck what size boot did you have to use for your 6.0 ic. Thanks again
