Thanks for all the help. Codes are getting checked right now. Took my chip out last night - truck runs perfect. The SES light gives real quick flashes but does not stay on. This morning I took the chip into diesel shop where I got it, they said the chip was not coded properly and they are getting it fixed. My chip is made TS Performance. I really dont want to have to go to guages, I would rather back my chip down to 50hp and not have to worry about it. I trust your guys advice and appreciate it, but I am getting conflicting opinions, the diesel shop is telling me I shouldnt have to worry about egt with the exhaust and intake I have on the truck. I realize the gauges would be beneficial for monitoring everything I am not denying that. I am dealing with Area Diesel in Carlinville IL if you want to look up their web site.
Well I just lost a long reply I typed.

It appears my chip is coded wrong, I have had it since July and have had problems since. I told them I wanted to put it back to 50hp since that is what my old chip was and they said the problem wasnt the 75hp it was the way the chip was coded. They also told me I shouldnt have egt problems with the exhaust and intake that I have.

Bar L at least consider installing a Walker BTM muffler in place of your stock muffler. IT doesn't increase the noise level at all and drastically reduces back pressure in comperison to the stock baffle type muffler. Back pressure is a major cause of high EGT's on any diesel.
The BTM can be purchased for around $70.00 and is almost as good as going with a 4" exhaust. You'll be much safer for towing that way without having to watch guages.
I have a 40HP tune with my Diablo Predator and with my 5" exhaust I'll still push 1250 degrees on a long hill if I don't watch it.
Ok, The only code on my truck was the 0603, from what I understand that is caused by the chip. My chip is now supposed to be coded correctly, I will find out tomorow on my trip to Oklahoma.

Where in Oklahoma are you headed?
Why do I ask?
Total Diesel Performance is out of Moore, OK (Just south of Oklahoma City). If your going to be in the area I would suggest calling Tony (www.totaldieselperformance.com). Check out what one of the best programmers has to offer. There is also a dyno run set for Saturday morning. If you are going to be around Lawton I could read any codes that you might have pop up.
