Truck pulls, mud bogs an mud drags Ford vs the rest

Hey since we were talking about truck pulling on Codys thread I thought i would start a new one. I just love watching these events and off course watching a bunch off Fords compete an do well. My take is Ford makes an excellent pulling truck gas or diesel. Ive seen a lot off older Ford trucks pull with a heathy 460 under the hood dominate the competition at several pulls I attended. An at some off the mud drags i attended Fords seem to be the dominate truck in most classes. As far as diesel classes are concerned. An also at the diesel truck pulls I have seen Fords powerstroke compete well with the competition. All in all I think Ford makes the best truck for an motorsport you can think off. Ok guys do you all agree or am I just full off it. Fire away

I saw a tug of war contest, and I was way dissapointed when a 79f150 wiht a 300-6 and grouns hawg tires got drug around the area by a stock Dodge Dakota. It was the only Ford there. I did see a chevy duallie, break a U-joint, that was cool.

in the truck pulls, the hemi gasses do the best, 6.0 gms are good. the 8.1 with an Allison is rotten the 5.4 ford seems to pull better than the V10 with the torqueshift also. the cummins and dmax seems to dominate it in the diesels classes i see. I haven't seen a ford pull the sled out the end since the pre 6.6 days.

i haven't seem many mud bogs or drags. I know in stock form right now, the LBZ lays down some great numbers. 14.X

Truck pulls, from what I've noticed - the 96 to 98 Chevy Z-71's do well in the half ton class as well as the 73 to 79 Ford 1/2 tons. The 73 to 87 Chevys don't do well at all.

The deisel 3/4 ton class is usually won by a Dodge with a Cummins or a Chevy with a D-Max. The Ford deisels are rarely impressive.

Does the 5.4 realy do decent? because it is the consensus around here that the 5.4 that I have in my superduty can't pull anything. (I know different though)

you won't keep up with a V10 pulling on the street, but on the track with the different tranny, you will prolly do better. ESP if you put a little gasser programer in it.
