Talking 65 300 ci exhaust question

i have searched this forum for quite a while but still need some question's answered. i have a 65 300ci six banger and i need to replace my old exhaust. i will keep my stock manifold but would like to improve performance if possible. i would like to get a muffler that will last so i am thinking about stainless. i have read about flowmaster vs magnaflow and i am leaning toward magnaflow. any ideas would help. thanks

Well what do you want in terms of sound? Loud or just a rumble?

Loud: Flowmaster is the only way to go IMHO. For a loud setup, run from the manifold to the muffler and dump it at some location behind the cab in a turndown.

For just a rumble, run the pipe(s) all the way to the rear of the truck and out either the corners, sides, or straight out the back.

i am more interested in performance and a long lasting muffler. sound is really not a big deal with me.
