Smile Thanks! Now A Miss.

This started with an engine that would not start. With all the help (MANY THANKS FOR THE HELP) I worked my way through testing and treating. The outcome (after$1100) turned out to be low oil in the hpop. Now it starts and runs, but has a miss again. I am so glad to have it going I am letting it run with the miss and to charge batteries again. How did hpop get low? how big a problem is it? Is it causing the miss? I am thinking of trading it off. I can do it running better than not even if it does have a miss. Jerry

Is it missing on just one cylinder? I wonder if that #5 injector wasn't bad but instead it's a problem with the wiring harness and the mechanic that did the work was fooled by it.

How did hpop get low? Jerry
What did they do, just add oil to the hpop?

IIRC There are only a few things that can result in low hpop oil level: Lpop can't feed enough oil to it or anti-drain back valve needs attention (stuck).

I don't know if low hpop will develop a miss in just one cylinder, but it can make all the cyliders (injectors) act up.

I let the engine run for one hour and as it heated up it ran better. Now it starts and runs fine. I have checked the oil in the hpop twice and it has been full both times. I will watch a few days. for now I am off to drive it a little.

you may have tiny leak in the checkback valve that keeps the oil from running backwards back into the pan or pump.

how hard is it to fix the check valve in the hpop to keep it from leaking down?
