In the User Gallery you'll see a '61 swb styleside with unibody sheetmetal but with separate cab and box. I thought the separate cab/box pickups used the '57-'60 box. Have I been wrong all these years or is that Argentinian truck something unusual?

Eric, The term Unibody refers to a Ford truck 61-63 with a one piece cab and bed. One of Fords better ideas that flopped. Ford had counted on this and had to refer back to the older beds until they could retool, or something like that. :-)

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Dec-01 AT 09:56 AM (EST)]Eric it looks like a south of the border oddity you can find all kinds of neat stuff down south. I once stumbled across an aluminum block 351C down there it was in a 72 mustang road race/rally car, in a junk yard, not for sale. That is unibody sheet metal on that truck how strange indeed.

I agree with both of these answers. Places like Argentina and Brazil did things a little different than here in the U.S. I've seen 1960-62 Brazillian ads for F-100's where they were still using the 1953-55 cabs, and the 1957-60 "styleside" box on it. I've also seen an ad for a 1965 F-100 which appears to be a 1960 pickup, with a almost similar to ours hood, and very different grille, and emblems. Wierd stuff!
