Flywest this may help.
The guy that thought all this up posted a bunch of how-to pictures on Webshots.
His handle was Zoodad, so that's what everyone calls this mod.
Due to international differences on how vehicles are setup (RH vs LH drive) I've taken the habit of using th nautical terms: port and starboard. So far nobody has complained and it leaves no doubt on which side I am referring to.

Thanks Dan

Port & Starboard works for me! (I was referring to the port side!)..

That said....(off track sorry!) The son (who is dyslexic) just obtained his commercial skippers quals recently - and is still my deckhand on our charter boat.

I've no idea how he ever passed because, I swear he don't know right from left or starboard from port, without having to stop and physically think about it.......(for quite some time & often he will still get it wrong!).

We have a "system" for working onboard, that seems to work.... I tell him what to do....with regard to comming alonside - placement of fenders, lines etc for tying up - and he either get's it right or wrong.....

When he gets it wrong - I shout - "No you idiot.....the OTHER starboard!"

He's a good kid & one day the penny will drop....watching him twist spanners drives me absolutely nutso, because for the 1000 times I've told him, "lefty loosey, righty tighty", - he STILL tries to tighten bolts he wants to loosen etc etc.

I know Dyslexia runs in our family - my sisters the same and was in a marching band, and had to wear bracelets on one ankle to know one foot from the other - her team mates just about lynched her for the screwups she caused!

I know this kid a mine can't help it - but there are days I almost wanna brain him with a shifter spanner....coz he jus won't learn...and I ain't the most patient of fathers!!

I have a sticker made up - I placed on his rear bumper the other day!

Dyslexia, - Found, Cure!

Still we make a good team, all the same, and he makes me plenty proud at times!

Cheers & thanks!

You can do either on or two Flywest. The most beneficial would be in front of the snorkle for the air box. If you have bugs down under like we do here in the south you may want to consider putting a screen over the hole like I did. Junebug storms can clog a filter in a heartbeat. just ask Kwikk

Sure do!

Sure do!
No June Bugs - but man do we have locusts plagues!
Just a big black cloud on the horizon - you think to yourself....Hmm big summer thunderstorm - until you hit it....then it's bug juice from bow to stern!
Blocks radiators, snorkels and air filters in mere minutes!
We usually run some kinda "bug screen" of fly wire just in behind the grill!
I'll be sure and put something on there!
Wonder how many locusts a turbo can eat before it dies?

Last thing to go thru a locusts mind when it hits your windshield at 70mph?
Yup - it's butt!

Cheers!

The only thing that bothers me about the Zoodad mod is that it would seem to me you present an abnormal amount of turbulence to the air intake right there. At highway speeds, airflow could actually be reduced by a vaccuum created in that corner. This is why most intakes ARE under the hood, so as to allow free-air intake without the problems presented by wind, rain, and bugs... but then again ford DID try that wheel-well fiasco...

Whole new meaning to the term, "Air Conditioning Duct", lol...
SPEAKING of which, there are a slew of louvered and screened covers for such outlets one can use to deflect rain and screen out the daubers.

Hey Fly...I was downunder in Queensland a few years back and I saw a Taurus identical to mine, but the entire dash was reversed...steering wheel on the starboard side and passenger on the port side. Would you happen to have some good pics of your truck's interior? That would be facinating to see one from down there? Just curious how things would be laid out...hope to see some in your gallery soon..... Those inquireing minds want to know

I have none

I don't have any of the interior loaded up to photobucket yet, this ones about the only one I have where you can just see the steering wheel on the starboard side thru the windscreen even!

I'll try n get a few today and load em up if I can find my digital camera - damn kids taken to keeping it in his car....and he's away at his girlfriends!

I've a neat lil camera in my cellphone also but it's away getting a new microphone put in it!

I'll have to try and put a few pics in my profile / gallery thing - I haven't worked that out yet!

I'm told you have someone in the USA who converts a few to starboard drive, for road sweepers and ploughs etc...???

If thats the case - man would I love to import a few a year downunder....because Ford Australia's stopped importing them for the 2007 year and downunder a GOOD late model 2005 / 2006 second hand one with low miles 20,000 or less will fetch $100K Aust... (or about $78 - $80K US)....which leaves a very tidy little sum leftover if I can buy em around the low prices you all seem to pay for em!

Cheers!
