Its been raining here in Alaska for a full week solid now. I drove to the store about 5 miles away. pulled into parking lot way in the back like i always do. turned the truck off and it made an odd rumbleish clunkish kinda noise ? did my business came back to truck and started just fine, drove home. pulled into drive way shut truck off and again it made a funny clunkish noise.

the best thing i think i sounds like is when a gasser engine that is not running very well and has crappy fuel in it runs rough for a second after you turn off the key. ?

could this be a bad batch of diesel fuel ? or has somthing gone bad or is my truck just unhappy that its been rained on for a solid week ?

I think you just need to run some fuel additive (Diesel Kleen).

 

Mine makes a funny weird sound too which to me sounds like coolant running thru the heater core..with may have some air mixed in it.. It goes on for a minute or so and stops. Does the sound come from the passenger side of the engine?

I hear the same thing when I turn my PSD off too........I just figured it had something to do with the air conditioning charging down........not really sure though.

its an automatic,
i did a bit of trouble shooting with the assistance of the wife, what i found was that when i shut the truck down, my exhaust shook and is hitting the frame? for some reason it loosened up and now shakes a bit.
will readjust ASAP

 

yup my truck did the same thing. i wedged a piece of heater hose between the exhaust and frame and it hasnt happened since
