Factory Rims

On my 08 XLT I opted for the 18" chrome clad rims, not realizing what I was getting. The rims do look nice, and I'm not complaining (yet) that it is just a chromed cover over a steel rim. I would like to keep the finish looking new for as long as possible, and am afraid that a WI winter will destroy the finish on these rims. I am now on a quest to find a set of cheaper OEM rims to use as my "winter tires." While browsing ebay, I found a number of rims for either the 150 or Expy with 6 lug pattern. Can anyone confirm that the proper sizefor an 08 is 6x135 bolt pattern, with a 44 mm offset? Any other "sizes" I should be concerned with? If that is the correct size, I assume that any 03-08 Expy, or 04-08 F150 rims would fit. Ideally, I am going to go to a 17" rim, to open up the door to slip in slightly larger tires.

Are there any other sites to check besides ebay for these? Anyone looking to upgrade from factory 17's and want a place to unload their old rims?

Thanks folks!

One thing to consider is the brake calipers are larger for 07 and 08. I think this is the only problem you may run into.

Look on Craigslist as well. Also call local tire shops near Ford dealers and see if they have take offs. I have the factory rims and HATE them. I bumped a curb once and it PEELED the plastic chrome, Nice!!! Mine are the 20's and they are a pain in the butt to keep clean. Never again.

If you keep the 'chrome clad wheels' wash the wheels at least twice a month, and every so often, wax them.
