Question Used Truck Opinions

I'm selling my 02 F250 7.3L with 50K miles. I've used it for towing a travel trailer and installed a boost and EGT gauge so I can monitor the engine. I also installed a Ford severe duty air filter kit, 4" exhaust from the turbo back, and a tranny cooler. I did all this to insure low temperatures and maximum reliabililty.

Do you think this is a negative for potential buyers or a positive? One opinion so far is to remove the gauges and not boast about the upgrades. I would appreciate others thoughts.

BTW, I bought a 2005 F350 Dually w/ the Tow Boss, that is why I'm selling.

Thanks everyone!

man, that sucks that you sold it to get a 6.0. good luck with that truck.

for the one you are selling, i would leave them all there. you didnt have a programmer of any kind on the truck did you? i would boast that you took extreme care of the truck and be honest about towing with it. to protect the truck you added the exhaust, intake, and the gauges to monitor the temps so you knew when to slow down so you didnt hurt your truck. i wouldnt see it as a turnoff to a buyer. be honest about everything and when you say that you never added power to it then they would most likely believe you.

I think that when the new buyer does a little research, he'll love the additions to the truck. Also let them know that they are welcome to take the truck to a garage to have a mechanic go over it (at the buyers expense).

Thank you all for your feedback. I really appreciate this. I will say that your opinions are consistent with what I was thinking. I can help educate them if they feel nervous.

Most people that buy these trucks buy them to use them. Either for towing, hauling, or some other need that will welcome those mods that you have done. Good luck selling your truck.

I bought mine with some mods already completed by original owner...and I couldn't be more thrilled it saved me a bunch of money on stuff I would have done anyway... Anyone who is just looking for a "Cool truck" to just tool around town in shouldn't be interested in your rig anyway. The one who buys it will be the one who will actually use it.

As long as they know you took care of it, cool beans.

How much $$$ are you selling the truck for, I bought mine (2000 psd) with a 4in exhaust (turbo back) lifted 4in with 18's and 33's, bedliner, K&N drop in filter (wich according to this forum I need to change! I was happy that I saved some money on those mods that were already done that I would do anyway. I paid $21,000 it had 52k miles, looks great I just had buy the gauges for it to monitor. There are plenty of people who want the mods already installed as long as it is well taken care of!
