Not starting '87 inline 6
I would like to start out by thanking everyone for their help through out my clutch replacment project.
I currently have everything bolted back on except the front drive shaft.
I wanted to start up the beast for the first time in a month and drive it but alas starting is a no go.
It turned over for along time and then after another atempt the starter relay simply clicked.
I discovered that after hitting the starter a couple of times it would turn over a couple more times.
So I am thinking that the starter is sticking in the new flywheel.
But this shouldn't keep the truck from starting.
I pulled the fuel line just before the fuel filter and plenty of fuel poured out.
This is as far as I have gotten in the process.
What I am looking for is advice on where to look for problems or things to test.
It is killing me that I haven't been able to drive my truck, so any help would be great.
Thanks,
Blindlightguy

Is the battery charged? If it's been sitting for over a month then it probably died. Try jumping it off.

during the clutch replacement, you may have tripped the fuel pump cutoff switch, also called the inertia switch. try reseting it after you have charged the battery.
