Talking Fuel brands and mpg

I live in Foresthill, Ca and used to fill up at the local Valero. One day I filled up at the beacon down the hill. Shortly after I noticed that the truck seemed to have more power and after a couple of tanks confirmed 1.5 mpg better. I didn't think I would get that much better mileage but cool.

does the other place usually sell more diesel? fuel that is fresher and turned over more will net you more power and mileage than two or three week old fuel from a little station that doesnt sell much.

The station in Foresthill sells alot more diesel than the beacon in Auburn. Foresthill is the Valero. On a side note, thank you for the help with my turbo rebuild. Love the WW

I think you will see this very on a regular basis. The fuel that is sold at your local beacon this week may come from Citgo, and next week may come from Valero or Exxon. It is constantly changing based on market fluxuations. Each batch will likely have slightly different spec.

I like the fuel I get from Citgo, seems to get better mpg and a little more engine smoothness. Fuel at Wal-mart seems to burn horribly in my truck. Just my .02

I have found fuel from Sunoco to help my truck perform best.
