Water In Fuel Switch

I've never drained the water on mine and the light just came on today . I found the yellow drain switch on the back of the fuel bowl but I wanted to know where it drains to so I could get a jar under there or something.

Thanks in advance.

Comes out on the front passenger side of motor. Above the crank pulley...just look up
to see the copper tube. I forget the tube size(for attaching hose), maybe 1/4".

yeah...diesel is hydrophylic(attracts water). Doesn't store well for long periods.

Well I draineed the switch the first time and apparently I must have a leak in this copper drain pipe because it looked like the bowl drained everywhere underneath. I then started the truck up and got the WIFL light again so I drained the bowl a second time. This time the light went off and all is well. However I have diesel all over the motor now and I tried wiping up as much as I can. Will this be safe to drive with if I let it evaporate for a couple of hours?

You need to attach a hose that is about 18 inches to the factory line so you can drain the bowl into a container, without the mess. When done draining, just tie wrap the exess hose under the frame somewhere..

Maybe those o rings are leaking. Keep an eye under the bowl although if your leaking you're going to smell it. Underhood sniff test.

I empty the fuel bowl every oil change and of course every third oil change when I change the filter. You really should be doing this more often. How long has it been since you changed the filter?? I would also not buy fuel from that same source again, it takes about 3/4 of a cup of water to trigger that light.
