Gibson exhaust

We don't currently have recordings or sound clips that we have taken but the Dual Sport and Split rear are nice and bold with V10 clips here http://gibsonexhaust.com/sounds/

The sound clips from the Gibson site are the ones I listened to many times before I bought my system.....my V10 sounded exactly like that until it hit over 1200 rpm....then the ricer sound emerged and only got worse throughout the rpm range....awful sound.
Again, I wrote to Gibson and identified the misrepresentation of the exhaust system, the sound clips, etc, and HEARD NOTHING IN RESPONSE>>>>

davzog.............really??? hmmm OK
ToughBuiltFord,
Thanks for the site. What do you think of davzogs post on the gibson sound over 1200 rpm???
The V-10 clips didn't rev over 1200 rpms, did they???
The Shelby clip underneath it really reved it up(and sounded great) but I did notice the V-10 clips were not wound up very far.

I'll tell you for sure that a load made absolutely no difference on my V10. On start-up, the high idle for the first minute or so was around 1700 rpm or so...
Even my neighbor across the street asked my if something was wrong with my new truck....sounded funny. I replied that it sounded like crap and I paid $300+ to get that awful sound!!! I must be stupid.
There is absloutely no doubt in my mind that the Gibson web sight sound clips were purposely recorded at a low rpm to hide the ricer sound....
I do have to admit, if you put the same system on a 5.4 V8, the sound is really good....

I just got off the phone with a Gibson rep and asked him about the sound clips...He told me that they take them up to to about 3,000 rpm for a wide sound sweep, wouldn't make too much sense to stop before 2,000.
With our guys here that I have spoken with and discussed this issue with, as you go higher in RPM your tone gets throatier and beefier. As a Ford truck owner, you must know that the tone that we get with these trucks doesn't quite match a Chevy or a Dodge so one aspect to keep in mind is your vehicle model. That said, the V10 sounds aggressive and Gibson guarantees improved performance over your stock exhaust.
The other thing I noticed is that the Gisbson exhaust is round while other Magnaflows and Flowmasters are oval shaped, which could affect the tone. It's simply a matter of taste, the tone sounds great and has an aggressive look. Some may have a different experience so keep all opinions in mind... their track record with happy and supportive customers and is proof to us that they back up their performance. The exhaust didn't fit what DavZog wanted but I have heard all great opinions elsewhere. After all, this is an aftermarket upgrade, right, so likely it should be an improvement.
