I have a 98 Ranger that I have recently lowered and put much money in the engine. After lowering my truck engine lopes. What is causing this? Have replaced fuel filter couple of times and everytime I do I get power back and it runs great. After a while though it goes back to being blah! But this problem never occured until I lowered my truck...checked e-brake, its not hung up or anything. Any suggestions
Well imo, lowering the truck & this problem occuring, may just be coincidence.
The fuel filter changing & it running better for a while, sounds like your getting trash into & clogging up the fuel filter!!!!
Have you changed gas stations, or brands lately????? Maybe fueled up at a out of the way place????
Maybe you got a load of trash from one that doesn't pump much gas, or let his tanks get too low & picked up sediment, or maybe fueled up shortly after, or while a tanker topped off the station & the attendant didn't leave that tank off line like they're supposed to, until stirred up things settle out!!!!
Did you open any of the old filters, to see how they looked inside????
Have you done a fuel prssure or volume versus time, check????
Maybe it's time for another filter replacement, if so, maybe it's time for a tank cleaning also????
