My 4 wheel drive wont kick in. I had the fuses checked and that is not the problem. It worked last month but now when I turn the **** it doesn't engage. What should I do next? Could it just be the switch within the ****?
could be your switch. Could be a vacuum actuator valve or whatever its called... does it make any noise when you put it in to 4x4? Also, try to put your foot on the brake and then put the transmission into neutral and then put it into 4x4. -marshall
It makes no noise when it turn the switch to 4 wheel. I will check all the other things out and get back to you. Yet it still did not want to engage when i had it in neutral or drive.

possibly your switch, possibly vacuum lines... i dont know that much about the 4x4s... could be the electronic switches that attach the transfer case... hmm... maybe someone else can help you...
A member has the identical post in the offroad section. There you will find 98 f-150 not locking in. A little troubleshooting was done, and the results are posted. His problem was the lock out switch. Visit this post, and see if it helps.
Good Luck.
