Looking for a 351W

I'm searching for a 351W to replace the worn out 302 in my truck and I was wondering if any of you folks knew of any 351W's for sale, in a junkyard or otherwise. I'm in Durham and would like to find one reasonably close, if that's possible.

Thanks,
Eric

Got one that needs work. 3-on-tree F-100. M/T valve covers, etc. Was running like a striped ape when it quit. Haven't looked into what it needs to get going. Needed a valve seal and smoked a bit, but ran smooth and fast. Unicoi, TN. ???

I was at a junkyard with a friend today and found an '80 F150 with a 351, but it was a 351M .

I will keep my eyes out for a 351w for ya.

are you looking for a good running one or a rebuildable one...
I imagine it dont matter being you were in a junkyard, but always worth the ask.

I will try to ring my junk yard close to me and see what they have. they usually have a couple laying around that needs rebuilding.

I'm pretty much expecting to have to rebuild any of the ones I would find in a junkyard, just so long as the engine is rebuildable. 94-up 351 would be nice, but any EFI one would work fine (although I could probably scrounge up enough parts to make a carburetted one EFI).

Thanks a bunch guys!

There's a place down here on Route 55 in Fuquay called McLambs Salvage. I bought a 9" rear end from them, which they pulled out of the truck, for $160.

Red face 351w

SCWIDIVICIOUS - The '76 F-100 had a 302 - was swapped for 351W - 3-on-tree, body rough, interior fair, was smoking slight when it was running ( valve seals ? ) for the smoke, it ran fast and strong. I think it had some internal work because it ran so strong. It quit on me one morning going to work, was towed home by a neighbor and sits. The battery has been pulled. It WAS going to be a donor truck for my 250 SC. Have since gotten a '76 F-100 w/ a 390 for parts.
Don't need 3 trucks. Would trade for a LWB box from later model.

those boxes seem to be scarce around here without costing as much as a whole truck..

I have a 65, the one in my avatar. I was thinking about biulding a 360 or 390 for it....just all depends really. would not hurt my feelings to leave my current engine in, however it would also be nice to have one on an engine stand I can build in the meantime to have plenty of horses when I finally do pull mine out. it will need some attention soon though....lol its 41 years old.

I am also building another combo vehicle...lol this one is one hell of a mess..lol

Thanks for the info George F!! intresting......

EPNCSU2006, Georges truck might be something to look into there for ya. its not fi, but i would not think much would be involved in switching one like that. the biggest difference I can think of would be rollercam v/s flat tappet, as well as the cam grind, and the heads, intake...blah unless im wrong about that, which is very possible..lol

If you have a modern 351 already, that should elim needing the heads, intake and all that jazz. ...lol If not there is always summit racing, jegs and all those other go fast catalogs for goodies to convert them..

I think I could swap over the EFI stuff (I have a manifold already, that would just leave a distributor, which I would probably have to replace anyway, even with a junkyard engine). The rest of the stuff I could most likely use off the 302 in the truck now. Cost is a big factor in whether or not I can do this swap now or not (I'm broke as a joke college student). I might be interested in some more information about the 351 in that 76 too, just out of curiosity.
