new valve body, new governor, new servo, new modulater. and the trans doesnt always drop down to first gear when you stop. give it more gas when taking off and it will drop down to first. the kickdown is hooked up and it will drop down if your riding along and need to kick it into passing gear.
so basicaly you stop start off again and it sometimes starts off in secound gear , anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this?
please any thoughts at all? really not sure what else to try. only other thing ive heard is to use a modulator right from ford rather then from the parts store.
yes the one from the parts store is adjustable, but i heard its better to just get one from ford as there pre adjusted so i just ordered one from there
No downshift at stops is a symptom of a sticky governor. If the governor is new I would be looking at the fluid for metallic particles that would contaminate the governor.
it did it before i replaced the governor and after. i change the fluid every 30,000 and always looks very clean. am tempted to take the transfer case off though and check the new governor though
I had the same problem on a fresh rebuilt C6 and the responses I got were that it was the governor. Turns out all it needed was to have the vacuum modulator adjusted. I wouldn't run a "preadjusted" modulator, especially if the tranny is bolted to a performance engine.
