1965 F-100 engine color and engine compartment color. ++
Hi all.
I wonder what is the correct color on my 352 engine in my 1965 F-100 pickup truck ?
When I bought the truck, the engine was something like turqouise blue. Still is.
What color is the correct color for the engine compartment ?
What is the correct color for the frame, axles, and such things ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards, Bill Brox

The engine block and intake were black. The valve covers were a gold/yellow color. Inner fenders and radiator support should be black, the hood underside is body color, the firewall is body color. Don't know about the suspension parts as mine are all a distinctive brown color.

Ok, thanks a lot for the answers.
Well, first of all, this means the engine sitting in my truck is not the original one. Because it is some medium blue, turqouise or something like that.
The Air cleaner looks original in shape, from what I have seen in my owner manual. But, it is black.
Secondly, black cast iron parts, and gold valve covers means it has the same color as the 1965 Galaxie V8's had.

My 1965 has been in the family since new and the valve covers are cream as well; must have been some sub-supplier winging the color for a month or two. Would be interesting to look at the factory code and date code on these two trucks if you have them I would like to know.
Anyway, the "correct" color is gold and if you want to be real nit-picking it I believe the color is argent gold which has a green tint to it, just like what was used on the TBird of that vintage, rather than the gold used on the Mustangs. This color is available from TBird restorer supply houses. Have often wondered whether it fades to cream.
