91 F-150 A/C compressor oil

I am installing an almost new A/C compressor on my 91 F150, 302 engine. The oil was drained out of the compressor and I need to know how much to put back in and do I put it in through the inlet in the back of the compressor?

TIA!

I just did mine recently and neither the truck nor the Ford manual would give me oil capacity. The only reference I could find was the auto parts store where I got the compressor and they showed it at 10 oz. So I put 6 oz. in the compressor, 2 oz. in the evaporator, and 2 oz. in the dryer. So far so good.

jas88- I checked the shop manual for my 88 and the information is identical to your post .10 ounces for the complete system using the FS6 compressor. If you are replacing just the compressor and you haven't flushed the condensor or evaporator it recommended 6 ounces into the compressor.

I replaced the dryer and I flushed the evaporator as I was converting to r134a.
