I can't seem to get the tank to fill up at all. I know they are both empty, but even if i just dribble fuel down the filler neck, it foams up and drips out.... The line isn't clogged...
classic tank not venting problem, if you search the forum there are many posts on this
are you using a high speed big nozzel or a low speed small nozzel pump
i searched for 'fuel tank' and came up w/ nothing... Both. The high speed problem is obvious, filler neck is larger for semis and such...I think. I can't even fill it without great effort. 5 minutes for 5 gallons...
I seen in the other posts that some guys will drive the rear wheel up on a block to rase the filler up higher or pull the inner vent tube out of the filler hose
this is the best thing i have done is get a fuel restantet plastic 3/4 to 5/8 barbed 90 , 4 ft 5/8 fuel hose and a brass 5/8 barbed 90. then remove the roll over valve from the top of the tank, stick the 3/4 90 in the gromet on the tank. remove the filler from the truck, drill a 5/8 hole in the filler neck in a spot that is higher than the pump nozzel when inserted in the filler neck. braze the brass 90 to the filler neck, remove the inner hose from the filler. replace the filler neck on the truck and connect the 2 90s with the new 5/8 hose
well, I don't really have the time for the better fix. However, I took the necks out of the main tube and all i have is the metal filler thing and a big hose attached to it that slides into the other hose. Is this the one I remove? I can't figure out how...
the inner hose is the one you want to remove its pressed fitted to the metal filler neck. i just stood on the hose and jurked on the fililer neck and it poped apart
