Help IDing front diff
I was offered another parts truck today. I had a very quick look at it. Door says it a 77, fender says it a f350. It has a divorced t case and dana 60 rear but couldn't tell if the front end was a dana 44 or 60. The only thing I noticed was that the locking part of the hub is huge. Whats the quickest way to tell?.I am biulding a 79 f150 shortbox so most of the parts are no good to me but I hate to see good parts crushed.

is it open knuckle or closed? if it's an open knuckle disc brake front end, best bet it's a 44. if it's a closed knuckle drum brake it may be a 60... compare the diff covers, if they match, they're both 60's..
