awd

Just a stupid thought. Since the Aerostar is available as an AWD version, could this be implemented on a 1960's vehicle. I know you would need a Aerostar transmission/transfer case. Figure out a way to mount it to a small block and you might have a nice AWD vehicle. I know this is not a true 4x4, but it would give the snow and ice handling along with very little smoking tires on a hard takeoff.

I know, stupid idea, but it might be pretty cool.

To me it looks like I will need to add 1/2 inch plate to top of frame to make them the same

You need to take in to account where you want the truck to sit when installing it, the more you raise it the lower the truck and larger the spacer.

It is trial and error.

Are you going to mount a 385 series?

I am going to use a 429 I have a set of 69 heads that I ported and polished a few years back I already have the C6 rebuilt with a stage 2 shift kit with some valve work and extra disc,it's been sitting in my closet for 6 years patiently waiting for Me and yes I want to drop the truck as well I want to do a 4 link in the rear cause it might hit the strip once in awhile.

The spacer will go on the top of the frame keeping the truck as low as it can there
Should I air bag it ?

It looks like I'm going to have to notch the frame so I can get all of the bolts in to hold the cross member on,I plan on boxing around the notches to retain all the strength I'll add more pictures when I get this done
