Check this out. I have a 2002 PSD I thought was stock. I put on a 4" exhaust, bigger intake, and guages (to mention a few). I went to download a predator tune and it wouldn't back up the, what I thought was a factory program. Took it to dealer and we went out for a ride with scanner/programer pluged in. He said it has somekind of tune put doesn't know what. He said we could try and download an update for it and see if it will take it, @ $75.00. I made an appointment for next Monday. If it doesn't take it then the PCM, GEM module and a couple of other things are going to need completly re-programed. Approximetly $250.00 to $300.00. I just wanted a tow tune and he seems to think thats what I my have just by driving it but he doesn't know for sure whats in it. Any suggestions. Also I did the AIH delete with boost connection and his scanner read 17 when my guage reads 24. He told me it usually goes in the MAP line, I knew that but thought AIH would be a better more accurate reading.

Bummer thinking it was stock and driving with a tune. I am all used to the extra power I didn't know I shouldn't have had.

 

If you have the time I believe Jody at www.dp-tuner.com can "reflash" your PCM to stock or any of his tunes you want for about $50 - $105. Or you can get a new PCM from him for the prices you stated. It would be worth checking before paying stealership prices.
