I Need help with Keys...
I have a 99 expedition, I have 1 transponder key and bought 2 more from ebay. Had both keys cut for free, but am having problems programming. I know the book says that you need 2 programmed keys to program more, but is there any way around spending $80 to have ford program this key?

I just went thru the same thing with my 2002 expy - gotta have 2 working keys to program yourself, then its easy! instructions are all over ebay. Shop around, tho - all ford dealers r not equal - I was quoted 124, 139, 154 and 192 from 4 different ford/lincoln/merc dealers to prog a total of 2 pats keys. PS- remotes are 15 - 20 bucks on ebay, programming instructions included, for new oem remotes

Just look at it this way, If you went to Ford to buy the keys, have them cut then programmed, it would have cost you over $250. I know that they will charge you a lot to program it but you did save quite a bit of money up front. That being said, I think I paid $60 to have mine done but that was in 2004.
