??? chandler grove carb ajustment ???

Ok guys I have a chandler grove carb on my V-8 flathead, and there is two screws on the back of the carb towards the bottom,is one for the high speed ,and the other one for the low speed, can anyone give me some idea how to adjust these. The truck runs real ruff when it is idling, and sitting still.I know that I am in the wrong area ,but it seems that I can get some better advice here,my truck is a 1947 ,can anyone tell me how many years they made this carb??

thanks for the help guys!!!!!!!! Bill

Those are both idle mixture adjustments since it is a two barrel carb. At idle
take one side at a time turn it in until it runs really bad and then back it out until it
straightens out, repeat on the other side. Now go thru the same drill again and you should get it to run nice and smooth. You could also turn both screws in lightly against
the seat and back them out 1 1/2 or 2 turns for a starting point.

Connect a vacuum gauge to an intake vac port and adjust like the above post states. Optimum adjustment will be at the highest achieved vacuum reading on the gauge.
