Bear Hunter's Truck Stolen
#17
That's terrible news and a horrible feeling to have something stolen. Especially a truck you've spent so much time, money and effort making your own. I really hope you get it back.
On a side note: It's too bad an event like this is what it took to bring you back to FTE, but I hope you visit frequently and share your advice and experience. I always enjoyed and learned from your posts/threads.

Hopefully they find it abandoned at some construction site with minimal or better yet, no damage. That's what happened with my neighbor's son-in-law's 05 King Ranch. I'll keep an eye out for you on this side of town.
Sounds like you work near Greenway Plaza. I'll pass this along to my wife who works in Greenway 2.
I really hope you get it back. I know how violated you must feel.

I went by ford dealership the other day, just to **** my self off with all the damn rebates they have now, and the blue book value for my '05 ('05 F-250 4x4 crew cab lariat) is what you can get the exact same '07 lariat for with the $9000 dollars worth of rebates they have. Dealer swore to me that he could get me out the door on a 2007 f-250 blue 4x4 lariat for $38,000. Hopefully you find your truck in the condition you left it, but if not go buy you a new one and start over for me thats the best part of the whole thing anyway. If i had the money i would buy one, trick it out, sell it, and do another one. We all have seen your truck and admire the hell out of the craftsmanship and work you put in that beautiful rig and im sure everyone in that part of houston has seen it too. God forbid you don't find it, but if not whoo us all with a new rig. I wish the best for you bud. And i have my eye out for you over in baytown. I also let some some buddys down in victoria to keep their eyes out on 59 south just in case (they patrol that area, state troops.

Howdy BearHunter.
Sorry about your truck, I know how heart wrenching it is to lose something you put so much of yourself, time, and money into. But you know you've always got the support of FTE.
I know how you feel because the same thing happened to my dad back in the early 90's. At the time, he'd just bought a new custom chevy van (that he paid cash for) and took it on a road trip to Texas with the family. He filled it up and stopped for the night at a La Quinta only to find it gone the next morning. He walked around the parking spot and even checked a few others hoping that he just forgot where he parked it; but then he realized it was gone and called the police. A month later, it showed up in New Mexico and looked like crap, but he got it back. Amarillo and Albuquerque police kept telling him how lucky he was, because usually when a car's stolen along the boarder it's a straight shot to Mexico and/or a chop shop. Hopefully, that won't be your truck's fate.
I'm out in the Spring area, but I spend alot of time driving around most of North Houston. I'll keep an eye out for it. Keep us posted. Take care.
